Two Confidences

It takes a lot of confidence to forge into unknown creative territory, telling yourself you’ll figure it out along the way. To chase a new opportunity, in a space that’s unfamiliar to you—that takes a lot of belief in yourself.

It also takes a lot of confidence to let good opportunities pass you by. It takes confidence to have conviction in your path, and to accept that not everything is right for you. It takes a steadfast demeanor to let others wrestle, while you prepare for a different fight entirely.

Confidence in itself is not good or bad. It’s just a state of being. I think a lot of people talk about confidence as if not doing something proves you don’t have it. But sometimes not doing something proves you have it, just in a different way.
