The most important thing you can do is breathe

When you’re faced with a big moment that’s making you nervous, the most important thing you can do is breathe. You might have a few minutes to cram, or double check information, but the best thing you can do for yourself, with so little time left, is breathe.

If a stressful moment is imminent, the way you’ll help yourself most is by being in the moment. By being present. It does no good to think of all the ways you could have prepared more, or the ways you wish the situation would go. The best thing for you to do is increase your level of presence.

Breathing helps that.

Everything is going to turn out okay. The situation you’re in likely isn’t fatal. You give yourself the best chance at success if you just breathe.
