Copywriting Tip: Sell What’s Priceless
Every product has features. Every service has inclusions. These are important to talk about when you’re copywriting. But they’re not the most important thing.
The most important thing to talk about is the priceless element.
Every good product and service has a priceless element. An ultimate state of being that the product or service helps the customer achieve. Apple is really big on security right now. The iPhone has hundreds of features, many of them new, but every billboard I see right now is about security. Because feeling safe from hackers is priceless.
Your freelance service might seem basic at face value. But it has a priceless element, too. For the right clientele, I bet you could help them get more hours back with their family. Or you could help them look totally professional. Or you could give them peace of mind. You might just be screening calls, or designing graphics, or doing taxes. But if you can double down on the priceless element of your business, you can become indispensable.
Finding what’s priceless about your offering is essential to good copywriting–in marketing campaigns and one-off emails. It can be the backbone of the marketing that takes your business to the next level. So start here: write down what you offer in clear, concise words. then, write down what feeling that offering can give your clients at the end of the day. Focus on big, important stuff. If you can sell what’s priceless, you’ll sell even more.
