We Fall To The Level Of Our Systems

“You do not rise to the level of your goals. You fall to the level of your systems.”
–James Clear, Atomic Habits

The habit research continues, this time with a new book by James Clear called Atomic Habits. This quote stuck out to me. There are so many people living in Los Angeles with ambition. They have goals. But the ones I see who really accomplish their goals are the ones who have good systems.

The ability to take a big goal and break it down into small, achievable pieces is what makes those goals accomplishable. Building a consistent system around the smallest viable pieces of each goal is what moves the needle over the long term.

I’m excited to read more of this book. I just finished The Power Of Habit, which was very well grounded in research studies and strong anecdotes. Atomic Habits seems to incorporate a large amount of psychology surrounding habits and systems, which I’m excited to get into.

Back soon with more insights from this book!
