The Long Haul of Marketing

Marketing strategies that work are dependent on teams that are willing to commit for the long haul. Every business needs to generate sales today. But the businesses who commit to doing the hard work of daily marketing are the ones who will see their efforts come to fruition months down the road.

When I was managing social media accounts for brands, I started to notice a pattern. The clients who really needed me ended up being bad clients. Why? Because they needed results yesterday, and I was the one they were willing to bet on–for a month. The clients who didn’t really need me ended up being great clients. They were willing to invest for the long haul, and were excited to have me help out.

If you’re a freelancer, find healthy businesses that don’t need you to work a miracle for them. If you’re a brand, be willing to commit to a marketing strategy for 6-9 months before you see any return.
