To Be Honest With You

“To be honest with you” has to be the best line in networking history. Any professional conversation has exactly that air about it–a professional tone that makes it difficult to discern if someone is being honest with you.

Whenever I’m having a networking conversation, if I can break down the walls of professionalism, even if for a moment, with a line like “to be honest with you” I immediately see the glaze lift off peoples eyes. Then they pay attention and remember.

I’m excited to deliver another blog in my daily challenge, but to be honest with you I’m writing this on my phone in the bathroom of the restaurant on my girlfriend’s birthday. It only took me four minutes.
