Stop Picking Strategies Without An Objective
Strategies are everywhere. But objectives are rare. And it’s ineffective to pick a strategy without knowing your objective.
It might feel overwhelming to read social growth strategies, or investment strategies, or business strategies. You don’t know which one to choose. And then when you do try one, it doesn’t work. And then you’re not sure if the strategy you’re reading is ineffective, or if you’re just not good at it.
The reason your strategies don’t work is because you haven’t chosen an objective. You’ve got treasure maps to a lot of places you never wanted to go, with buried chests full of things you don’t want. Picking strategies is fun and easy. But finding an objective is hard work. It requires trial and error. Some soul-searching. And acceptance of who you are and what you’re working with.
Instead of taking a week to try a new strategy, it might be more meaningful to take a week off to consider your ultimate objective. Don’t just pick a dream job and move on. Describe in great detail what kind of life you want. Once you really understand your objective, deciphering strategies gets a lot easier and more effective.
