Everybody has one brain

Everybody has one brain. Everybody has two hands (at most). Everybody has 24 hours in the day. Everybody has to sleep and eat and breathe. I’m not saying life’s fair. But I am saying that largely speaking, on a physiological and scientific level, we’re all playing with the same rules.

This brings me comfort. It brings me comfort because I see people who are able to do so much more than me, yet simultaneously seem much less stressed about it all. It brings me solace to think that they don’t have any inherent advantage that makes their daily attitude different than mine.

Every day, I have the opportunity to be in the present moment, to experience gratitude, to accept the good gifts I’ve been given, and to make use of them. I can only do what I can do. I don’t have a third arm or a second brain.

Will I accept my limitations, and do with them what I can today?
