Do-overs are free

“Doing it right is hard. Doing it over is harder.”

–James Clear

I love James Clear’s weekly newsletter, and I read it almost every week. But I’ve stumbled on a few in a row now that I disagree with. In my previous critique of James Clear’s newsletter, I discussed how his advice was good for creators in their thirties. Not for creators in their twenties or teens.

This is another piece of advice I feel is for an older demographic. If I were to advise young creators in a similar vein, I would say that doing it over is easier.

So often, we hesitate to create for fear of mistake. The hardest part is starting. I disagree that it’s harder to fix things. Once you get started, it’s much easier to fix things later on.

So get started. It won’t be perfect now, but  it’s the only way to create something meaningful.
