A Healthy Hustle

Having a healthy hustle is important. If you get hit by a bus, or struck by lightning, or fall through an uncovered manhole, you will have wanted to spend time with friends doing the things you loved during your last week on earth.

Of course you love your work. That’s why you’re reading this blog. I love my work too. We’re among the fortunate ones. But achieving balanced success should be a universal goal. The end result of an unbalanced hustle is a funeral no one attends.

If no other productivity blogs have told you this today, I will: take Sundays off. It’s more than just an unenviable escape for nine-to-fivers. It’s an opportunity to reset, refocus, and rejuvenate. A chance to stop creating, and enjoy what has already been created. To stop earning, and spend what you already have earned.

There will always be more create and another dollar to earn. If you can’t enjoy the moment you’re in with the things you have, you’ve completely missed the point.

Go take a walk, my friend. It still works wonders.
